A new Pelican’s SnoBalls location is open at 3326 Peach Orchard Rd.

“When we opened Pelican’s in Grovetown almost five years ago, we never in a million years thought we would be able to open multiple stores around the CSRA!” read a Facebook post from the managers. “It’s because of your support that we’ve been able to grow our small business bigger than we ever dreamed! So, thank you! We really do love our customers and we love being able to serve the world’s best SnoBall to the entire CSRA!”

The shop now has locations in Grovetown, Augusta, North Augusta and Aiken along with the new location on Peach Orchard Road.

Phoenix Printing has purchased the old Masters Bowling Center building located at 1810 Gordon Hwy. with eyes toward a “future expansion,” according to Phoenix Printing’s owner, Jeff Hadden.

“We’ve closed on the property, and we’ve started the demolition,” Hadden said. “We’re cleaning up the property around it as well. It’s a future expansion on one of the gateways to Augusta on Gordon Highway.”

The Augusta Metro Chamber Member Economic Luncheon celebrating the 2021 Top 10 in 10 Young Professionals to Watch will be Tuesday, June 29 at the Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center. Justice Carla Wong McMillan will be the guest speaker. Mayor Hardie Davis, Jr. and Ashlee Duren, publisher of Augusta Magazine, will present awards to the 2021 Top 10 in 10 recipients.

“The Top 10 in 10 Young Professionals to Watch award was developed in 2009 by the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Augusta Magazine, to annually highlight ten young professionals (age 25-35) in the Greater Augusta Region,” according to the Augusta Metro Chamber website. “In distinguishing these individuals, the Chamber aims to expand recognition for Augusta’s young professional talent throughout Georgia.”

The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. in the Oglethorpe Ballroom. Tickets are $35 for Chamber members and $45 for prospective members. Advanced registration is required at augustametrochamber.com. Deadline to register is Friday, June 25.
