The American Youth Football’s Georgia Pac-12 conference will host its Letter of Intent National Signing day on Feb. 20.

Jermaine Hudson, the Georgia Pac 12 commissioner, will host the signing event.

American Youth Football is the largest youth football program in the country, and the Georgia conference is based right here in Augusta where some of the games are played, Hudson said.

“Teams are based right here in Augusta, Ga.,” said Hudson. “I got a lot of teams in Columbia County and Richmond County as well. Those teams are assigned to my league, which is the Georgia Pac-12, and we play here on Saturdays at the high schools. That’s where we play all our youth games at. Then, they move to the region, which is Sanford, FL, and then we do the Nationals in Kissimmee, FL.”

The season starts in August and usually concludes somewhere around the middle of November.

The American Youth Football program started in 1996 and currently has over 130 teams.

The league is weight- and age-protected to ensure kids have safe way to compete at a young age and that they to play football safely at a young age.

The league has been partners with  the National Football League in the past. Notable stars who been involved with AYF include NFL Hall of Famer Randy Moss, current Seattle Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll and NBC’s football color commentator Chris Collinsworth.

The signing day ceremonies will occur at IKONZ sports bar and grill located at 1515 North Leg Rd., in Augusta. Those attending the event will be required to follow CDC guidelines to combat COVID-19.
