Ziggi’s Coffee has been steadily making an impression since its CSRA debut on July 23. On Saturday morning, just a day after its ribbon-cutting, the kiosk saw long lines at its drive-thru and its walk-up window as customers swarmed to join its grand opening celebration.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the café offered one free 16-ounce drink to each patron, along with a raffle to win a new Recteq Road Warrior grill. While free samples are likely to draw a hearty response, and Saturday’s crowd was more than business as usual, business has proved steady since opening two weeks prior, says co-owner Kaitlyn Triplett.

“Last Saturday [July 27] was very, very busy,” said Triplett, who opened the Augusta area Ziggi’s Coffee franchise with her husband, Ryan Triplett. “Today is, is definitely much busier than then we have been, but we have been pretty consistent.”

The first Ziggi’s Coffee opened in Longmont, Colo. in 2004. More locations sprung throughout the state over the years, but franchises didn’t reach out of state until a location in Tulsa, Okla. opened in 2018.

The chain now boasts more than 85 locations, most of them concentrated in the Midwest, with over 250 in development. The Augusta location is the first in Georgia, and the second in the Southeast—the first being a café in Clayton, N.C., which opened in December of 2023.

Among its signatures is varied menu offerings of several flavor combinations of coffees, smoothies, Italian sodas, teas—including chai teas from fellow Colorado-based company CharlieJoe Chai—and even its own brand of energy drinks. The shop also has an extensive food menu with pastries, paninis and even six kinds of burritos.

“I would say there’s something for everybody,” Kaitlyn Triplett said, noting the shop’s most in-demand beverages so far has been the iced salted caramel latte and the Colorado mocha. “People have really liked the burritos… Also, the energy infusion drinks have been very, very popular.”

Triplett is a Colorado native herself, with friends who own franchises there. While she and her husband have lived in the area for seven years, they decided to bring a piece of home by launching their own iteration of coffee shop.

“It’s something that we really felt embodies our family, something we felt we could be proud of and proud to bring to this area,” she said. “We also knew it was going to be coming here whether we were the ones to bring it or not.”

In November 2023, Ziggi’s Coffee announced a franchise agreement to bring some 50 locations to the Atlanta area.

Ziggi’s Coffee Augusta is located at 252 Furys Ferry Road.
