A revision for a planned unit development at West Lake Commons Drive, updating an ordinance to develop a broadband-ready community and the matter of a Martinez café’s alcohol license are among the unfinished business for the upcoming Board of Commissioners meeting Tuesday.

West Lake Commons and RB Capital Investment have requested a planned unit development revision on the property at 1000 West Lake Commons Dr. The planned revision concept as stated in the narrative document submitted by Southern Partners to West Lake Commons entails approximately 31,800 square feet of retail and restaurant space. The Planning Department recommends approving the revision with conditions, one of those being that a proposed mobile car detailing site not be permitted and that dumpsters shall not be picked up between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. The request was tabled from the Oct. 19 meeting.

Fresco Café of Martinez was cited by the Georgia Department of Revenue on Aug. 16 for selling distilled spirits without a license and for selling beer acquired from a retail outlet as opposed to a wholesale distributor. As a result the development services division recommended the denial of the restaurant’s license to sell alcohol. However the board tabled the issue pending the results of a hearing scheduled with the DOR on Oct. 28.

New business on the board’s agenda includes a request for a parcel on 6322 Wrightsboro Road to be rezoned from residential agricultural to community commercial. The purpose of the rezoning would be for turning the property into a restaurant with a game room and building several leasable commercial units. The Planning Department recommends that the request be denied.

Another rezoning request on the agenda is for a parcel at 721 Gateway Center Blvd. Vincent Willis and property owner Robert Meybohm requested the parcel, which is currently zoned general commercial, be granted conditional use for the opening of a tattoo parlor. The Planning Department recommends approving the request.
