2.05 Earthquake Reported in Lincolnton Near State Line

A 2.05 magnitude earthquake was reported around 3 a.m. according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The earthquake originated in the Elijah Clark State Park area near the Georgia border with South Carolina northeast of Lincolnton.

The origin was approximately 3.35 miles below the earth’s surface.
