The Aiken Department of Public Safety announced the death of an officer.
Here is the agency’s statement on Tuesday:
“It is with profound sadness we must report to the Citizens of Aiken, Public Safety Officer Kevin Simmons (43) has passed away. Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife and children. Kevin Simmons began his career with Aiken Public Safety on May 10, 2021 as a Public Safety Officer in training.
The department will send another press release with more details on Mr. Simmons’ funeral arrangements.
Please keep the Simmons family and Aiken Public Safety in your prayers as we deal with this tragic loss.”
