Another arrest made in slaying of Augusta man

A fourth man has been arrested in connection with the death of an Augusta man whose body was found dumped on Watkins Pond Road near McBean in July.

Ramando Cartrellis Moore, 38, 812 Landing Court Grovetown was taken into custody Thursday at the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Burke County Detention Center in reference to the murder of Morris Harden Jr., according to an email from Capt. Jimmy Wylds with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.

Moore has been charged with Murder, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. 

Burke County deputies found the body of Morris Harden Jr. of Dyer Street in Augusta lying on the side of the road. He’d been shot and killed at a home on Ninth Avenue in Augusta and dumped in the 1200 block of Watkins Pond Road, according to earlier reports.

Three arrests were made Aug. 3.

Willie Warren Johnson 51, of 2024 Grand Blvd., has been charged with Murder, Kidnapping and tampering with evidence; Carl Grady Rouse 61, of 2614 Brookshire Dr. Augusta, has been charged with Murder, Kidnapping and tampering with evidence; and Albert Killebrew III, who is listed as homeless, has been charged with Murder, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Johnson and Rouse are currently in The Burke County detention center, and Killebrew is in the Richmond County detention center on unrelated charges.

On Aug. 3, Wylds indicated more arrests would be coming.
