Augusta has no shortage of new places to eat, proved by the ribbon cuttings this past week.

The much-anticipated Dave & Buster’s finally arrived on Cabela Drive. The Dallas-based chain restaurant and video arcade had the grand opening of its location on Cabela Drive at the Village in River Watch shopping center on Monday, June 27.

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Augusta Black Chamber of Commerce held a joint ribbon-cutting ceremony for Soca Vegan Kitchen on Thursday. The vegan restaurant, launched by soon-to-retire Army veteran Georgia Alexander, specializes in vegan cuisine inspired by Caribbean cooking, especially Trinidadian. Soca Vegan Kitchen opened at 630 Crane Creek Dr., Ste. 103, next to Sprouts Farmers Market.

Soul City Pizza had its own ribbon-cutting on Tuesday afternoon, at its locale on Central Avenue. The James Brown-themed pizza parlor is a restaurant concept developed by Andrew Crumrine of the former Crum’s on Central; Brian Brittingham and George Claussen, who operated Southbound Smokehouse on Central before it was closed down last summer. Soul City Pizza first opened in February, after getting its beer and wine license approved by the Augusta Commission on Jan. 4.
