The Trolls of Amsterdam begins its low country tour Tuesday at the Soul Bar.

Featuring San Francisco’s Mat Gilbert on guitars and vocals, Kentucky’s Phil Brown on drums; Kansas City’s Rob Freeland on bass and North Augusta’s Stephen Wilson on lead vocals and guitar, the Trolls have been preparing for this tour since last fall.

Music from the group’s Wilson Drive recording will be featured during the concert.

“This will be the first time ever these songs from the album will be played with a full band. A few surprises in there too and maybe some never released jams will be played,” said Wilson.

Band members met in California and played in bands including The Rockstone Players and later Culture Canute and the Rockstone Players. Despite being spread out all over the country, they’ve kept in contact and kept the music going.

For this tour, Wilson said they have a limited pressing of 200 vinyl records and T-shirts that will be available at the shows.

A reception of artists will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Sacred Heart Cultural Center Great Hall.

The exhibition features the work of Laurie Cordaro, Teresa Damron, Christine O’Meara and Sally Van Peursem and will be on display through Sept. 2.

A portion of the sales will benefit the ongoing preservation of Sacred Heart.

A shoutout to Lillie Morris, whose “My River Runs to Thee” has been accepted into the South Carolina Watermedia Society’s 45th National Juried Exhibition that will open at the South Carolina State Museum’s Lipscomb Gallery Aug. 27.
