An Augusta teen was fatally shot Wednesday night on Aiken Street, authorities said.
Jabari Webb, 15, was shot at least once on the 500 block of Aiken Street. He was transported to the Augusta University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1:02 a.m. Thursday, Coroner Mark Bowen said.
The shooting happened about four miles from where the teen lived on the 1700 block of Walker Street in Augusta. A second male victim was shot during the incident, and he was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The sheriff’s office has not announced a suspect or possible motive. “The investigation is ongoing, and no further information is available for release,” sheriff’s Sgt. John Perry said.
