Augusta woman found dead inside home from gunfire

An Augusta woman was found dead Tuesday afternoon inside her Maxwell Street home from gunfire, authorities said.

Precious D’Antignac, 33, was found inside her home around 12:50 p.m. Tuesday. She had been shot and pronounced dead on the scene.

No motive or suspect description has been released. “The investigation is in its early stages, and no further information is available,” sheriff’s Sgt. John Perry said in a press release.

An autopsy will be scheduled, Coroner Mark Bowen said.
