Bridgestone Americas, Inc. has donated $2,000 to the Aiken Technical College Foundation to support student scholarships, the school announced Monday.

The funds will go toward two Bridgestone scholarships, both geared towards tech and manufacturing training: the Bridgestone Americas Scholarship, for students enrolled in technology programs; and the Bridgestone Industrial Maintenance Scholarship for women and minority students studying maintenance tech.

The company donated toward student aid at the college for some 20 years, and Bridgestone/Firestone South Carolina is one of the college’s many industrial partners through its Technical Scholars Initiative, alongside companies such as Hubbell, Parsons, and Shaw Industries.
