Chick-Fil-A plans to purchase the Mi Rancho property at 3064 Washington Rd. and plans to construct a Chick-Fil-A there while tearing down its existing location at 3066 Washington Rd.

“I do know that Chick-Fil-A is looking to expand,” said John Powell, operator of the current Chick-Fil-a location. Powell suggested following up with Chick-Fil-A’s Atlanta-based Support Center, who could not be reached for comment.

According to Augusta Planning and Development, no schematics of the new business have been submitted as of yet.

“(Chick-Fil-A) has been talking to us; they’re very diligent on their process,” said Kevin Boyd at Augusta Planning and Development. “They’re planning on demolishing both buildings and re-doing the entire site.”

The plan currently proposes shifting the Chick-Fil-A over to grant more space for parking and drive-thru, etc. and leaving a portion of the Mi Rancho site as an outparcel.
