Concert for a Cause at Southbound Smokehouse

Date: January 18, 2023

On Friday night, Jan. 20, SRP Park’s Southbound Smokehouse BBQ restaurant will be hosting Miracle Meeks Jamfest at 6 p.m.

The concert for a cause will feature several bands and artists, as well as a silent auction starting prior to the event at 4:30 p.m.

Performances will be given by local favorites including Amy Christian and Keith Jenkins, Scarlet Begonias, She N She, the Acosta Brothers, the Mason Jars and the Bodega Brown Jam.

Christian is recognized for being the featured vocalist at The Godfather of Soul James Brown while Jenkins is known to be a part of the James Brown Band.

According to their Facebook, Scarlet Begonias is popular for paying tribute to the “timeless sounds of the Grateful Dead” – a 60s, American rock band famous for their eclectic style of fusing rock, folk, country and jazz.

She N She is an indie band with “an eclectic mix of originality and poetry,” and following them is an alternative folk duo – the Acosta Brothers. Originally from Louisiana, Jarrett and Matt Acosta moved to Augusta, and did mission work throughout the country after high school before settling back down in Georgia.

The Mason Jars, a local gem, will be performing upbeat crowd favorites of the bluegrass and indie variety as their inspiration is to create an environment of positive feelings for audiences.

For a door cover fee of $10, audiences can enjoy a 7-hour evening of local music and barbeque with a Southwestern twist at 1009 Center St. at North Augusta, SC.
