The health inspection world grades a score below 70 as failing, however, no restaurants, pools or hotels received a failing score from inspections on March 31-April 4.
Worst scores in this week’s health inspection
This week’s lowest health inspection score was an 82 earned by two different establishments – Taqueria El Patron, located at 3107 Wrightsboro Road, in Augusta, and Huang Wing Group/BTJ Wings, located at 3697 Windsor Spring Road, Suite 112, in Hephzibah.
During the inspection of Taqueria El Patron, the inspector noted observing the ice machine unclean, which resulted in a four point deduction.
“Observed bulk ice machine dirty with brown buildup,” the report stated.
The inspector also noted at Taqueria El Patron witnessing portions of old guacamole on April 2, resulting in another four points deducted.
“Observed [guaca]mole stored in reach in cooler with use by date of 3/26/25,” the report stated. “Discard food past its use by date.”
The inspector also docked another point from the restaurant’s score for noticing the previous health inspection score not being posted.
“Observed most recent inspection not posted. Repeat violation,” the report stated. “Post most recent inspection in public view.”
While inspecting Huang Wing Group/BTJ Wings, the inspector noticed clean dishes still dirty.
“Observed clean dishes with debris on it,” the report stated. “Ensure dishes are being cleaned all the way before being stored.”
The inspector also noted seeing no labels on certain food, which resulted in a loss of four points.
“Observed chicken in [walk-in-cooler] without prep and discard dates,” the report stated. “Food needs to have prep and discard dates.”
The Wings restaurant was also docked three points for the inspector noticing containers of food being stored in an unsafe manner.
“Observed food stored on floor,” the report stated. “Ensure food is at least six inches off the floor.”
