Spring is almost here and that means the Evans Market is getting ready to start for the 2023 season.

The market will kick-off Saturday, April 15 in the plaza in front of the Columbia County Performing Arts Center, 7025 Evans Town Center Blvd., Evans. Janet Wheatley, programs and events manager for Columbia County, said the market features farmers, food vendors and a variety of local artists.

“There’s artists that have ceramics, the cute little door hangers, there’s people that have clothing, people that do the pottery, farmers that bring vegetables, fruits, plants,” Wheatley said. “…We typically have 40 or so vendors per market.”

Vendors can now fill out the application online at columbiacountyga.gov under community events and programs for a spot at the Evans Market, Wheatley said. Vendors are required to have a Columbia County business license.

The cost is $25 per week to be a vendor, and the vendors can attend for as many weeks as they would like, Wheatley said. The cost includes a tent, table and two chairs.

The market will run from April 15 through June 24, Wheatley said. It will take a break during the hotter months before starting again Sept. 16 and running through Nov. 18.

“We just want to offer something to the community where you can buy stuff from local producers, local vendors, it’s a fun little day to look around and shop,” Wheatley said.

The market will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Information on the market can be found on Facebook.
