Evans on Ice will be returning for the holiday season at Evans Towne Center Park, opening Monday, Nov. 14.

“We are very excited. The fact that we have become what people have shared with us as a part of a fabric of the holiday tradition of the greater CSRA, it is really touching as people who put together this event,” said Co-Founder of Evans on Ice Mike Boerner.

It began as Augusta on Ice and was held at Augusta Common in 2017 but moved to Evans Towne Center Park the following year.

Evans on Ice has a partnership with Columbia County’s Parks, Recreation and Events and hope to continue the event each year at Evans Towne Center Park.

“We love it at Evans Towne Center Park, and we hope to continue this partnership for years to come,” said Boerner.

Evans on Ice consists of a large 60 by 100 feet outdoor skating rink, a fire pit for roasting marshmallows, a kid’s holiday train and many decorations, occasional live music, and light displays provided by Columbia County.

They also offer ice skating lessons; private parties and you can also purchase season passes for the entire holiday season. Boerner says he has seen growth in the amount of people each year who come and some even travel from outside the CSRA.

“It has grown in popularity every year,” he said.  “We sell season passes and every year the number of people that elect to spend the extra money to buy a season pass has grown.”

“It’s something you can’t get in somewhere else in southeast Georgia to the best of my knowledge and we are pretty proud of the that,” Boerner said.

The outdoor ice-skating rink and holiday tradition will be open from Nov. 14- Jan. 8.

Evans on Ice will be open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. It will also be open on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday noon-10 p.m. and Sunday noon-9 p.m. For more information visit https://evansonice.com/.
