The historic First Baptist Church (802 Greene Street) just had a new roof installed. The dilapidated structure has suffered substantial deterioration over the last two decades.
Joe Edge, publisher of The Augusta Press, is a co-owner of the historic property with CFO Connie Willson, and he submitted the following photos to show Augustans the progress that has been made in restoring the historic property, which will eventually be used as executive office space.

Below are pictures of the roof prior to being replaced.
The stained glass on the interior of the church has been removed to protect it during future renovations.
Many of the pews that have been in the church for over 115 years have been removed and restored. Below are a few before and after pictures.
The next phase of construction will include repairing the dome on the top of the sanctuary portion of the building.
