For my story this week, I’m looking at a local business that specializes in highlighting local artists through concerts on their back deck.

In 2019, Augusta residents Becca and Zak Todd hosted their first Artist on Deck concert. They recognized that many local musicians felt as if they were only acting as background music when performing at local venues, so to help showcase their talent and have the focus be on the music, the Todds decided to form Back Deck Booking.  This is the first concert that they hosted, starting in July.

Sarah Fayson, an Augusta worship leader, went onto the stage to showcase some songs that she and Dodd worked on together. Her Instagram is @sarahfayson.

Artist Celia Gary was the second performer of the night, showcasing some original music as well as a few covers. Her instagram is @celiasmusic.
