Man arrested for downtown Augusta homicide

Keyon Levon Smiley, 31, has been arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of 21-year-old Logan Etterle.

Around 2:08 a.m., June 12, Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to shots fired at 10th Street and Broad Street in downtown Augusta.

Upon their arrival, deputies found the victim was shot at least one time, according to the incident report.

Etterle was pronounced dead on the scene at 2:56 a.m.

Investigators have also obtained a warrant for De’Andre Tandy for murder, according to an email from Sgt. Caleb Lee.

Tandy is not yet in custody.
