A man who eluded capture earlier in August is behind bars Tuesday.
At about 2:50 p.m. Tuesday, a team of law enforcement agencies arrested Terrell Crawford Jr., 23, at an apartment in west Augusta.
The U.S. Marshal’s Southeast Regional Task Force and Richmond County SWAT and Violent Crimes Division worked together to take Crawford into custody without incident, according to an email from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
He was wanted for multiple felonies including two aggravated assaults, terroristic threat and acts, cruelty to children.
The SWAT team was called to Crawford’s Hunter Street residence on Aug. 1 after shots were fired during an argument. The family and Crawford fled the scene.
“Due to the active investigation, no additional information will be released at this time,” the email said.
