Homicide suspect pleads guilty to unrelated aggravated assault case

An Augusta man accused of shooting a woman about a week before he was arrested on murder charges in another shooting pleaded guilty Tuesday, June 7, to aggravated assault.

Nicholas G. Lattimore, 27, admitted his guilt in Richmond County Superior Court in the June 16, 2020, shooting of a woman with whom he was arguing with. On June 26, 2020, Lattimore is accused of fatally shooting 36-year-old Miguel Reyes in the parking lot of a West Augusta Parkway shooting plaza.

Tuesday Lattimore pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime in exchange for a plea recommendation of 10 years in prison followed by 10 years on probation.

The murder charge against Lattimore remains pending.
